Exciting New Golf Course Launch in Myakka City: Soleta Golf Club Unveiled!
Myakka City is buzzing with excitement as a new golf course has officially opened its doors. The Soleta Golf Club, designed by none other than World Golf Hall of Famer Nick Price, was recently unveiled to the public, and it’s already generating a lot of buzz among golf enthusiasts.
Just over a year ago, Price celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony on a bulldozer, but now that vision has come to life. “As you get deeper into the project, it evolves a little differently, but it’s basically what we’ve wanted,” he shared with a satisfied smile. “I think we did better than what I expected.” The excitement in his voice was palpable as he discussed the course, which is now officially operational at 33720 Singletary Road.
Get Ready to Tee Off!
Soleta is not just any golf course; it’s the first of its kind in Myakka City, providing a truly unique golfing experience. This private club has some serious membership perks, with initiation fees set at $100,000 for locals and $50,000 for those living outside a 60-mile radius. The exclusive nature of Soleta is intentional, ensuring every member can enjoy a relaxing round without a long wait time.
Price designed the course to be accessible to golfers of all skill levels. Whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned tour player, Soleta has something for everyone. “To get those landing areas correct is imperative, so you have wide enough areas,” Price explained, emphasizing how the natural landscape, wetlands, and unique native white sugar sand areas work together to create a Florida course with a charming links-style feel.
Versatility is Key
One of the standout features of Soleta is its versatility. Price cleverly integrated 120 yards of free-form tees into his design, which allows for different tee placements. “The hole you played yesterday might not be the same hole you’re going to play today,” he said, referring to the various ways to challenge golfers. Players can expect three or four ways to chip and two or three options for approaching the greens.
With a membership cap of 375—divided between 275 local members and 100 national members—Soleta prides itself on keeping the club intimate. “We don’t want you to come out here to play golf anytime without worrying about playing a five-hour round,” said Alan Pope, the membership and sales director.
Those interested in joining should act fast; current prices are labeled as pre-sale and are set to rise in the coming months. So far, the club boasts 170 members, including professional golfer and Olympic medalist Nelly Korda, who praised the course, noting, “The fairways are not flat here.”
What’s Next for Soleta?
The new golf course spans a whopping 7,400 yards and is a par-72 course. But that’s just the first phase. There are plans for a performance center, led by celebrated Hall of Fame instructor David Leadbetter, set to be completed by the end of 2025. This facility will feature advanced technologies like Toptracer and Trackman, offering golfers a glimpse into their performance with detailed metrics.
“Toptracer is a game changer,” Pope explains. Golfers can track ball speed, direction, and more right on their phones or tablets while practicing. The performance center will also include hitting bays, locker rooms with both hot and cold tubs, and even a sauna.
Community and Lifestyle
But Soleta offers more than just golf. There are plans to add amenities like a pool, tennis courts, and pickleball facilities, ensuring a vibrant community atmosphere.
As if that wasn’t enough, the development includes 93 luxury homes from Anchor Builders and John Cannon Homes, where prices start at a cool $3 million for lots that range from half-acre to an acre of prime real estate.
With its unique design, exclusive membership, and community-focused amenities, Soleta Golf Club is poised to become a cornerstone of Myakka City’s recreational landscape. Early reviews are in, and they say golf lovers won’t want to miss out on this stunning new course!
