Well, it all comes down to a points system that tracks players through various PGA events, from local sections all the way to the national level. In an absolutely fantastic performance, Connelly Eiswerth racked up a whopping 860 points, leaving her closest competitor, Sandra Changkija from Daytona Beach, in the dust with only 763.33 points.

Rising to the Occasion

One of the highlights of Connelly Eiswerth’s year was her stellar performance at the Women’s Stroke Play Championship during the PGA Winter Championships. But that’s not all! She also tied for 26th place in the prestigious PGA Professional Championship. That’s her sixth consecutive appearance at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship! Talk about consistency!

Team Spirit Wins Big

In addition to her individual accolades, Connelly Eiswerth showcased her leadership skills by guiding the U.S. team to a fantastic 12-shot victory in the Women’s PGA Cup. Her final-round score of 66 was nothing short of spectacular!

Switching gears to up-and-coming talent, Will Davenport from Boynton Beach has been crowned the amateur and mid-amateur Player of the Year. Davenport made waves by finishing in the top three in four out of his six FSGA starts this season. Additionally, R.J. Nakashian was named the Senior Player of the Year, while Clipper Salmon and Sophia Dyer took the honors for Junior Boys Player of the Year and Junior Girls Player of the Year, respectively.

First Coast Amateur Tournament Buzz

Now, let’s look ahead! The ninth First Coast Amateur is scheduled to kick off this Saturday at the stunning Deerwood Country Club. This marks the first time the event will be held there, bringing a fresh backdrop to a classic competition. The defending champion, Kent Hsaio from Purdue, will be looking to keep his title!

With the City of Jacksonville’s Office of Sports & Entertainment presenting the event for the second consecutive year, excitement is in the air! Expect an impressive field of 96 players participating in a thrilling 54-hole, no-cut format.

A Global Stage

Last year, golfers from 12 countries, 23 states, and 46 colleges and universities participated, showcasing the incredible diversity and talent in golf today. This is certainly an event not to miss!

Junior Golf League Registration Now Open

On another note, registration for the 2025 PGA Junior League season is now open! Aimed at engaging players aged 17 and younger, it’s expected that over 77,000 players will participate this year! The league features divisions for ages 13 and under, 17 and under, as well as a new pilot program for 9 and under.

Looking Ahead

Programs will run from May through November, with a dynamic roster of various competitions happening at multiple local golf clubs. And don’t forget about the Underwood Cup coming up soon! The teams have been finalized for the match-play event set for February 2-3. With Mike Broderick captaining the professional team and Michael Del Rocco at the helm of the amateur team, we can expect some fierce competition!

With all these happenings in the golf world, it’s shaping up to be an exhilarating year filled with talent, excitement, and opportunities for golfers across the board!
